Timon takes this advice literally and observes Pride Rock in the distance. ![]() After bidding his mother farewell, he meets the mandrill Rafiki, who teaches him about "Hakuna Matata", and advises him to "look beyond what you see". Now ostracized and convinced that he will never fit in with the other meerkats, Timon decides to leave to find a better life. One day, he is assigned as a sentry in an attempt by his mother to get him accepted, but his daydreaming leads to the near death of his uncle, Max, at the hands of hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. Though he is unconditionally supported by his mother, Timon dreams of a better life than his colony's bleak existence, continually hiding from predators, most notably the hyenas. Timon is a social outcast in his meerkat colony on the outskirts of the Pride Lands, as he frequently messes things up by accident. Pumbaa agrees with his idea, and Timon rewinds the film to before the beginning, where the story begins. This eventually leads to them fighting over the remote control, until Timon eventually gets the idea of telling the story of how both of them met and how they learned about Hakuna Matata. In a dark theater (a parody of Mystery Science Theater 3000) Timon and Pumbaa watch the original film until Timon decides to fast-forward to the scene where they first appear, but Pumbaa then tries to rewind it to the beginning. The plot of the movie seems to be inspired by Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, a tragicomedy that tells the story of Hamlet from the point of view of two minor characters. A majority of the original voice cast from the first film returns to reprise their roles, including Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella as the voices of Timon and Pumbaa, respectively. The third and final installment released in the original Lion King trilogy, it is based on The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa and serves as an origin story for the meerkat/warthog duo Timon and Pumbaa while the film is also set within the events of The Lion King. I would not recommend working here. The Lion King 1½ is a 2004 American animated direct-to-video musical comedy film produced by the Australian branch of Disneytoon Studios and released direct to video on February 10, 2004. You will be forced to stand for 10 hrs straight weekends are mandatory for new employees. Also on saturdays and sundays you are forced to work 10hr shifts with one 15 min break, which is illegal, they would make you clock out for anything more than 15 min. I never had any issues with clients or complaints my time of working there other than with my “co workers” who thought I wasn’t good enough to fit into their cliques. When I asked for my first raise after a year of working I was told that I didn’t contribute enough to the company even though I averaged 32 hrs weekly and was a hard worker. This company only cares about making money and the owners are never around to see how poorly this place is ran by uneducated management. It was made clear from the moment I started that if I was ever mistreated by the stylists I couldn’t go to management about the situation bc anyone less than them will always be in the wrong. ![]() Receptionist, assistants and least busy technicians don’t matter ever. They managers only care about the technicians that bring money into the business. I worked here for over a year and I always had issues with management not knowing how to take control from the start. I look forward to where my journey here continues to take me and the people I will meet along the way. I have gotten to know clients and their families so well I have been invited to their parties. Nothing happens overnight and as wonderful has management and the owners have been, they aren't mind readers. With time (have patience!) and open dialogue you can achieve continued opportunities and great job satisfaction. If you work here and are a consistent, reliable, and hard working individual then you will have found a good home. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a family owned company who understands and values me as an individual and gives me the stability and flexibility I need to be successful mother and wife, not just manager. ![]() As my role has grown and changed so has my life outside of work. Hard work and dependability have continued to pay off and I have been given many opportunities. I am lucky enough to have worked for this company for over four years and counting.
